What this window does

The video's media picker collects photos and video clips for a project. The desktop editor can open a separate Choose photos and clips window at a project's add-media route. Adding assets to that project is different from publishing a campaign or exporting a finished video.

Before you start

Open the intended video project and stay in its workspace. You need write permission; a viewer sees This video is read-only. You can't add media. If Video Studio is not in the menu, it isn't enabled for that workspace yet.

Select and add media

  1. In the video creation flow choose Choose media, on a phone choose + Media, or open the desktop editor's add-media action. The picker or separate window shows Choose photos and clips.
  2. Choose the source:
Source What to select
Upload Use Choose files to select accepted image or video files. Wait for upload/preparation rather than closing while it is still running.
Recent Reuse available recent media in the workspace.
Photo Studio Pick a saved photo. This source supplies images, not video clips.
Stock Enter a stock-photo query and Search. This is an image source, not stock video.
  1. Select the intended items and check the selected-item count. Use Load more where offered to find more media. A caller that accepts only video does not offer image-only stock choices.
  2. In a regular picker, choose Use selected media. It returns the selected assets to the calling creation/editor flow; inspect that flow before proceeding.
  3. In the separate add-media window, choose Add to video. Wait for Added. You can close this window. The window attempts to close automatically; if it stays open, you can close it after the success message.
  4. Return to the project. Review the imported media and arrange it in the editor. Attaching a source asset does not imply that a finished video has been exported.

If something goes wrong

Symptom Cause and recovery
No media found Change source or stock query, or upload a file.
Thumbnail unavailable A preview could not be shown; verify the selected asset before relying on it in the video.
Media failed to load Retry loading; do not assume the project has received anything until the add action succeeds.
Video not found in current workspace Return to the project's actual workspace and reopen its add-media action.
No permission to add media Ask for workspace edit permission; opening the window alone does not grant access.
Window did not close Close it manually only after Added. You can close this window. appears. An error is not a completed addition.
