What you will do
Start a post from a particular day in Scheduled content, choose which campaign it belongs to, and finish it in the real post composer. The calendar is an entry point, not a separate editor or a one-click publishing button.
Before you start
- Confirm the workspace and its time zone. The calendar uses the workspace's local day.
- Have a connected publishing account and permission to publish to the destinations you intend to select.
- Decide whether the post should join an existing campaign or start a new one. Archived campaigns and campaigns still being created in the background are excluded from the picker.
- Prepare the text and any required media. Different destinations can require different formats or media.
Important: Clicking a day seeds 10:00 on that day in the workspace time zone. It does not reserve a slot, validate that the time is still in the future, or publish anything. Always check the final schedule.
Start from the chosen day
- Open
/calendar. Use Previous week, Next week, or Today to display the desired week. Read the date on the day itself, not just the week range. - Press Add post inside that day's column or row. The Add a post dialog opens and asks Which campaign should the post join?
- Choose a branch:
- Select the name of an existing campaign to add the post there. The manual composer opens with the calendar time passed into it; the campaign's opening questions and the creator-choice question are skipped.
- Select New campaign to start a campaign. Answer the opening questions shown, such as Campaign goal, Goal details, Urgency, and, when applicable, Leads. Use Continue to advance. The calendar entry chooses the manual path rather than asking Who creates.
- Confirm you reached the intended campaign's composer. The first calendar click has not saved a server-side campaign or post by itself.
In the real-estate edition, the picker asks Which property should the post join? and offers New property. Existing rows are properties rather than general campaigns. The selected-day and schedule-checking rules are the same.
Write, select networks, and verify timing
- Under Post content, enter the post text and, if useful, a Name. Add the media you need, or use Continue without adding media for a text-only post where the destination supports it. After media selection or continuing without media, the network choices become available.
- In Networks, choose the accounts and destinations that should receive the post. Check the selected targets, not only the network icons. Press I'm done to continue to Preview.
- Review Preview. Use Add or edit networks if a target is missing or wrong, then press Finish to reach When should the post go out?
- Check each selected account's schedule. For a one-time destination, the calendar supplies the chosen day's 10:00 as an initial time. Change it if needed, especially for today or a past day. Do not assume the calendar picked your business's preferred posting time.
- For Facebook groups, review the publishing window. The calendar time seeds the window's start and the initial end is unset; it is not a promise to publish to every selected group at exactly 10:00. Review Start and end dates, the end date if required, and Post priority for your intended posting plan.
- Resolve any schedule, destination, media, or consent warnings. When ready to authorize publication on the schedules shown, press Publish to the campaign. In the real-estate edition, the label is Publish to the property. To save without authorizing publication, use Save as a draft in the campaign or the corresponding property label instead.
- Read the completion screen and each network's outcome. Then open the campaign or return to Scheduled content and the chosen week. Check the actual cards and schedule rather than treating the original day click as confirmation of publication.
Options and rules
| Choice | What it means |
|---|---|
| Existing campaign | Adds a post without re-answering the campaign's goal and urgency. Only eligible campaigns appear in the picker. |
| New campaign | Opens campaign creation first. Nothing is saved on the server just by opening the questions. |
| One-time schedule | Starts with the selected day at 10:00; you can review and change it before publishing. |
| Repeats, where available | Uses the recurrence you configure in the composer, not an implied recurrence from clicking the calendar. Check days, time, and end condition. |
| Facebook groups | Uses a start/end publishing window and the group's posting rules; a start time is not an exact delivery time for every group. |
| Save as a draft | Saves content without publishing it. A draft is not an active scheduled send. |
The schedule carried from the calendar is a starting value. Restored work or later changes can affect the final values shown in the composer. Review every selected account before the final publish action.
The calendar does not support dragging a post to reschedule it. For changes to an existing post, open its campaign and use its available editing or scheduling controls; Add post creates new content rather than moving an old entry.
If something goes wrong
| Symptom | Cause and next step |
|---|---|
| The campaign is missing from the picker | It may be archived, still being created, or absent from the loaded workspace. Check the workspace and campaign state; opening New campaign is not a substitute for selecting the intended existing one. |
| A time is already in the past | The calendar starts from 10:00 even when that time has passed. Pick a valid future time in the composer. |
| The composer asks to fix a publishing time | One selected network's schedule is invalid or does not fit that network. Review every account's schedule, not only the first one. |
| A network is missing or cannot load | Review its connection and permissions. Reload the network choices; do not publish to an incomplete selection unless that is your actual intention. |
| Media is marked unavailable | Remove or upload the affected file again, then inspect the preview and targets. |
| A post is saved but not scheduled | Check whether you chose the draft action. Open the campaign and review its card state and publishing schedule. |
| Some networks did not publish | Read their individual completion reasons. A failed or set-aside network does not become successful because another network succeeded; fix it from the campaign before retrying. |
